Do we entertain frogs? Or do we step on that little worm and say, "Get under my feet!"
This is the area that the devil deals in. He can't deal in your spirit man ... he cannot. if he could, he could make us sin there.
The only place that he has any freedom to operate in is in our soulish realm. The only way he can do this is if we let him. We let him bombard us with thoughts. For example ......
A sweet lookin' chick runs down the aisle and this teenage boy sees her. He says, "Oh boy, look at that chick!" Then what happens? He starts getting thoughts.
OK, what are we going to do if we entertain thoughts? Are we going to squelch them or entertain them some more. The devil just loves that. If he can plant just a little inkling into our thought life, our mind, our soul heart, and we entertain it, he'll say, "What about this? What about that?" And then we think on those.
Little by little, he will just lead us away from where God is telling us, "Go that way." and we respond, "I'm going this way." Oh ... the pleasure of sin for a season ... not good for our intimate relationship and fellowship with our Heavenly Father.
Our spirit man doesn't allow the entertaining of frogs in our thought life, but we make the choice of the thoughts we think. Our spirit man wants to go with God because of the intimate relationship we have with Him.
We cannot afford to think on the thoughts that the devil throws our way, even if they sound real good, because we do not want to lose our relationship with God.
2 Corinthians 10:4,5 ... The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (the frogs, the thoughts from the devil). Cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
We must learn to keep our mind on the Word of God and cast out the thoughts that are not in line with His Word. We can do this. Do it!
