Philippians 4:8,9 KJV ... Finally, Brethren, whatsoever  things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.   Those things which ye have both learned and received and heard and seen in me, do: and the God of Peace shall be with you.

Philippians 4:8,9  The Message Bible... Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'd do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious...the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.  Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized.  Do that, and God Who makes everything work together, will work you into His most excellent harmonies.

We need to be spending our time thinking on things true,  lovely, pure, virtuous  ... and this is where we need to stay.  We need to be focused on the things of God and not on the things of this world.  The world and the devil, called the prince of the air, and the principalities and powers are there in the world.
