James 5:16 says "Confess your trespasses (faults) to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
We need to confess our faults, not to the world, but to other believers, and this should be done in small groups, not in the large church settings, because a lot of the people who come to church may not be Christians.
This is true because my family and I were some of these. We attended church from the time we were small children, thinking and believing that we were going to Heaven when we died, that we were OK with God. We weren't told, we didn't know otherwise .... how many others outside the Kingdom are like this? MANY! Are you one of these people? Do you know anyone who is an unbeliever? Even many pastors standing in the pulpits are unbelievers.
Churches should really bring back the altar calls for people to repent, publicly, for the recognition of their sins. This will bring a cleansing, a strength, and forgiveness back into the Church.
