Abraham obtained God's Promise through faith and patience.  He had the patience, exercised his faith, believed what he was praying for, and stuck with it until he knew he had the answer.  So after he had patiently endured, he obtained the Promise.  

Hebrews 6:13-15 says that God made Abraham a Promise.  Since there was no one greater to swear by, God took an oath in His own Name, and said, "I will certainly bless you, and I will multiply your decendants beyond number."  And so after Abraham had endured, he obtained this Promise.  

God has given us the Title Deed, the Evidence, of our legal ownership to our spiritual inheritance.  The time has come for us to take full possession of all that He has provided for us.  Now we have to endure and obtain.
