Look past the Crucifixion to the Day of Resurrection.  The day we call "Easter" is Resurrection Day.

Yes, Jesus was crucified!  He died on that cross!  But ... on Resurrection Day, early in the morning, He rose up from the dead, came out of the grave, and appeared to many!

Matthew 27:52,53 says that many of the graves opened at this time also, and those who came alive walked through the Holy City, Jerusalem, showing themselves to be alive.  I'm thinking that after this happening, these "dead, come alive ones" had a glorious triumphant march into Heaven!  And the Father and all the angels rejoiced!  They had a PARTY!

Jesus remained here on Earth many days after His Resurrection, where He showed Himself to many, preaching and teaching things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.  Then He was taken up in a cloud to Heaven, and His disciples watched Him go.

It was told them that He would come back in the same way as they saw Him go.  Acts, chapter 1, tells us of this.  This hasn't happened yet, but it will.

Jesus died on that cross on the day of crucifixion, but He arose from the dead on Resurrection Day!  He's ALIVE!  And He lives in us who believe in Him as our Savior.

and we'll see everyone after, next week.
