Hebrews 5:12-14 ... It's difficult to explain spiritual things to you since you are spiritually dull and don't seem to listen.  You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others, but instead you need someone to teach you and go over the basics about God's Word again, starting from square one, back to babyhood needing milk.  

This Scripture is out of the NLT and the Message Bible ... just in case you're trying to find it. 

Continuing into Hebrews 6: 1 NLT ... So let us stop going over the basic teachings (foundations) again and again.  Let us go instead and become mature in our understanding.  

THE MESSAGE BIBLE says it this way: Let's leave the preschool fingerpainting exercises and get on with the grand work of art.  Grow up in Christ (the Anointed One and His Anointing). 

You need the "meat" to get past the "baby stage". 

Babies get milk ... they cannot handle meat ... they'll choke on it.  Our friend, Rev. Kendall, says, "When you're getting fed the Word of God and the pastor or the teacher is digesting it for you, they are feeding it to you.  It's the same as your mother's milk fed to you pre-digested before you get it." 

But if you, as the believer, go and seek it out for yourself, you will grow up because you'll be getting the "Meat of the Word".  Then you'll get the next higher level of revelation knowledge for yourself.  Now you're getting into the meat of the Word and feeding yourself so you can go by yourself and not have to have somebody else come and give you "mama's milk".
