John 12:1-8 NKJV ... Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany where Lazarus was, who had been dead, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.  There they made Him a supper and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him.  Then Mary took a pound of very ccostly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped  His feet with her hair.  The house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.  Then one of the disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray Him, said, "Why was this fragrant oil not sold for 300 denarii and given to the poor?"  He said this, not because he cared for the poor but that he was a thief and had the money box, and was taking what was in it.  Then Jesus said, "Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial ... the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always."

Now look around you wherever you are and you'll see people that Jesus has raised from the dead.  They're sitting at the table with Jesus.  This is what the local church is all about ... this is the #1 Building Block in the Kingdom of God.

John 12:3 ... Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed Jesus' feet, and wiped His feet with her hair.  The house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

The devil wants to get in and humanize.  He wants to take all the beauty out of what just happened.

Mary had a revelation of Jesus' death.  She had saved that very costly ointment to anoint His grave clothes and His body in the outward fashion that they did in the day.  But she knew that  He would soon physically depart from the area, from her life, and she didn't want to hold anything back.

She wanted to give all that she had NOW, NOT when He was dead.  She didn't want to horde anything from the Kingdom of God.  She wanted to spend her BEST on Jesus while He was yet touchable and in her presence.
