God's will for us is written in the Scriptures, so we need to open our Bibles, get into the Scriptures, and find out what His will is. Then when we know what His will for us is, we must do it.
In James 1:22, God tells us to be doers of the Word (the Scripitures), not just hearers of the Word. And I'll add this ... not just readers of the Word.
James 1:23,24, in the Amplified Bible, tells us that anyone who only listens to the Word, but does not obey or do what it says, will forget what it says. He thinks about it for awhile, but then forgets about it.
Then verse 25 tells us that the one who does what the Word says ... the one who obeys ... will be blessed, because of his obedience.
Ephesians 5:17 says that we must firmly grasp and understand what God's will is. To not understand is not wise, but foolish.
God promises us in 1 John 2:17 that the person who does His will and carries out His purposes in his life, will abide ... remain forever ... in His presence.
