We must become a new person in Jesus Christ. Our new life in Christ requires us to have a new birth, and this new life results in a new identity.
If you have received the new birth, having been born again by asking Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, you are spiritually alive in Him right now. Your spiritual life in Him that began when you personally trusted Him to be your Savior will continue on when you die physically.
Salvation is not a future addition ... it's a present transformation that occurs at your spiritual birth, not at your physical death (as some people believe). Because if you wait until you die to do this, it's way too late. We are supposed to live our salvation.
2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP ... If any person is in Christ, he is a new creature altogether. The old previous moral and spiritual condition has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
Ephesians 2:10 AMP ... We are God's own handiwork, His workmanship, recreated in Christ Jesus ... born anew ... that we may do those good works which God predestined ... planned beforehand ... for us, taking paths that He prepared ahead of time that we should walk in them ... living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live.
