What did Jesus do and say that we need to do and say?
In John 12:48,49, He said, "I have not spoken of Myself, but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment ... what I should say, and what I should speak. I know that His commandment is Life Everlasting ... whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me ... so I speak."
John 4:34 ... Jesus said unto them: "My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work."
The "meat" that Jesus is talking about is "the LIFE of the Word." "Meat" is synonymous to "food. The Word that Jesus was being fed by the Holy Spirit was His sustenance to keep Him alive in the spirit realm. We need to do that same thing.
In John, chapter 6, Jesus said, " 'I AM the Bread of Life'" several times. He's talking about when we are "feeding" on the Word of God, we are getting the "Meat of the Word" to feed us.
