We're supposed to have the same characteristics as the Godhead (the Father, the Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit).
Jesus had to demonstrate to the world who we are. Religious-thinking people will not accept this. Even in Jesus' day, people said, "You're making Yourself equal with God." Well, He IS God!
The word "image" means "exact likeness". The image of the people who are not saved is like the demonic world that they're living in. But when a person becomes a Christian, he/she is changed and their image should be like the Godhead.
The word "mimic" is not in the Bible, but the Greek word for it is ... "mimtes" with gimomai. This means "to become ... as in a continuous sense". It indicates "a decisive act with permanent results".
