1 John 4:17,18 ... Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world.  There is no fear in Love because perfect Love casts out fear: fear has torment.  He that feareth is not made perfect in Love.

Who is the "He is" in this verse of Scripture?  It's God.  So "He is" and "he is" are in two different settings.  The first "he is" is to be like God's Son, Jesus ... this is you and me.  The other "He is" is Jesus.

As He is in this world, so are we in this world.  How is He?  He's victorious over His enemies ... over Satan ... over all the evil of this world.  We should be the same way ... VICTORIOUS!  This is the most important thing in Christianity.  All other things point to that.

God says that as we are in the image of Jesus, the Son, we (you and I) are also in the image of Him, the Father, because as we are, I AM.

Jesus is part of the Godhead.  The Holy Spirit is part of the Godhead.  God says that He wants us to be just like Jesus.  Jesus says that we are going to do what He did (past tense) ... we're going to say what He says ... and we're going to do what He does (present tense) because He follows the Father ..... and we follow the Father.
