Colossians 1:12,15,16 ... Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us mete (able) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; (Jesus), Who is the Image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of every creature.  For by Him were all things created that are in Heaven and in Earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers .... all things were created by Him and for Him. 

When God creates a spirit in Heaven, that creation lives forever ... it never dies.  It ends up in Heaven or hell ... one or the other when the body dies, depending on the decision made during a person's life. 

We all must make the (personal) decision to accept or reject Christ as our Savior while still living.  This is called "being born again."  No decision means an automatic rejection of Him ... and the automatic destination for all eternity is hell. 

2 Corinthians 5:17 ... Therefore if any man (anyone) be in Christ, he is a new creature ... old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 

When we get born again, we are not a new creation ... we are a new creature which came about because of the creation.
